The clocks have barely turned us over to a new decade and the professional tennis circuit is already cranking up, starting with the high profile Capitala World Tennis Championship men's exhibition event in Abu Dhabi.
Robin Soderling edged out Stanislas Wawrinka in two tiebreaks, while David Ferrer defeated the player who ended 2009 on the hottest streak, NIkolay Davydenko. Soderling and Ferrer will now play Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, respectively. The top two seeds received byes into the semi-finals of the six man event.
